Is This Free ?

To create and run a forum for any amount of members, you do not need to pay anything at all. A small advertisement at the top of your forum however, will be placed. Advertisements will have no overall effect on your forum.

Do I Need To Know HTML Or Other Programming Languages To Create My Forum?

You do not need to know any HTML, or PHP at all to set up your free forums. There is an option to include custom BBCodes in your forum if you wish to.

What is a BBCode?

You cannot use custom HTML in phpBB 3.0 and above. Instead, you can replace HTML codes with a BBCode to be used in your forum. Examples of BBCodes allow videos to be included in your posts, choose backgrounds and different texts. You can find more information about the different BBCodes available with their HTML replacements in the tutorials forum.

How Long Will It Take Me To Set Up A Forum?

Your forum can be on the Internet and publically viewable by anyone in a matter of seconds. If you want to set up a forum, all you need is the name of your forum, a password and username for the Administrator account, an email address for the Administrator account and a short description of your forum. You can also choose a category for you forum, such as Game, Music and School/Eduction. Once you have entered these details, the details of the set up will be sent to your email address and you can start using your forum right away.

Do I Need My own Domain?

The simple answer is, no, you do not need your own domain, although if you choose to have your own domain, you can. When you choose the name of your forum, it will be used in the forum URL like this - http://yourforumname.freeforumsite.com

Will I Have Full Control When My Forum Has Been Set Up?

You will have full control of your forum when it is set up. Your will have your own Administrative Control Panel.

How Much Of Our Forum Needs To Be Visible To The Public?

at least 50% of your posts must be made in a publicly viewable.

Can I Rename My Forum?

Just contact us and we will change your subdomain to whatever you desire.

I Own My Own Domain Name, Can I Use It On Free Forum Site?

Just contact us on the support forum with your forums subdomain and the domain you want added.

I Have A Backup Of My Forum, Can I Upload Here?

If you have a backup of your phpBB3 forum, you can have it restored. Just contact us.

Can I Remove The Ads From My Forum?

We only put ads on your hosted forum to help with server costs. But if you decide that you ever want them taken off, just go over to the upgrades page and choose how long you want them taken off.

Can I Add My Own Ads My Forum?

You can add any ad from any ad service on your forum. However, this requires that you have already paid to remove our ads first. If done so, then please contact us with your ad code and they will install it for free.

I have a phpBB2 forum, can I convert it for FFS?

We can now convert your phpBB2 forum to phpBB3. All you need to do is create a new forum, then contact an admin on the support forum with your details.

Why Can't I Login?

There are several reasons why this could occur. First, ensure your username and password are correct. If they are, contact the board owner to make sure you haven't been banned. It is also possible the website owner has a configuration error on their end, and they would need to fix it.

Why Do I Get Logged Off Automatically?

If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you login, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time.

I've Lost My Password!

While your password cannot be retrieved, it can easily be reset. Visit the login page and click I've forgotten my password. Follow the instructions and you should be able to log in again shortly.

I Registered But Cannot Login!

First, check your username and password. If they are correct, then one of two things may have happened. If COPPA support is enabled and you specified being under 13 years old during registration, you will have to follow the instructions you received.

I Registered In The Past But Cannot Login Any More?

Attempt to locate the e-mail sent to you when you first registered, check your username and password and try again. It is possible an administrator has deactivated or deleted your account for some reason.

Why Can't I Register?

It is possible the website owner has banned your IP address or disallowed the username you are attempting to register. The website owner could have also disabled registration to prevent new visitors from signing up. Contact a board administrator for assistance.

Can I Use HTML?

No. It is not possible to post HTML on this board and have it rendered as HTML. Most formatting which can be carried out using HTML can be applied using BBCode instead.

Can I Post Images?

Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server.

What are sticky topics?

Sticky topics within the forum appear below announcements and only on the first page. They are often quite important so you should read them whenever possible. As with announcements and global announcements, sticky topic permissions are granted by the board administrator.

What are locked topics?

Locked topics are topics where users can no longer reply and any poll it contained was automatically ended. Topics may be locked for many reasons and were set this way by either the forum moderator or board administrator. You may also be able to lock your own topics depending on the permissions you are granted by the board administrator.

What are Administrators?

Administrators are members assigned with the highest level of control over the entire board. These members can control all facets of board operation, including setting permissions, banning users, creating usergroups or moderators, etc., depending n the board founder and what permissions he or she has given the other administrators. They may also have full moderator capabilities in all forums, depending on the settings put forth by the board founder.

What are Moderators?

Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) who look after the forums from day to day. They have the authority to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate.

Why does my search return no results?

Your search was probably too vague and included many common terms which are not indexed by phpBB3. Be more specific and use the options available within Advanced search.

How do I search for members?

Visit to the “Members” page and click the "Find a member" link.

How can I find my own posts and topics?

Your own posts can be retrieved either by clicking the "Search user's posts" within the User Control Panel or via your own profile page.

What attachments are allowed on this board?

Each board administrator can allow or disallow certain attachment types. If you are unsure what is allowed to be uploaded, contact the board administrator for assistance.

How do I find all my attachments?

To find your list of attachments that you have uploaded, go to your User Control Panel and follow the links to the attachments section.
